A mixture of all time favourites, that will cheer up even the grumpiest of passers by! Yellow, oranges, whites, and lovely cream blooms. This is a selection of our best daffodils, for cool to temperate climates, and will produce flowers throughout the full season. One finishes, another one starts.

Remember to plant Daffodil bulbs three times as deep as the bulb is high, with the pointy end up. The depth will protect them from heat, as well as producing a nice strong stem. We usually space our Daffodils about 10-20cm apart,  as they will multiply over time. Imagine that.. they keep having babies!

Once the flowering has finished, you can remove the flower stem, but its super important to allow the foliage to remain until it has yellowed, if you want them to flower next year. You see, the Daffodil foliage gathers energy and nutrients at this time for next year’s blooms.

Keep the plants relatively moist during this time, and add a little general purpose fertiliser. Daffodils do like Potash and slow release fertiliser brands, which are low in nitrogen (this means more flowers and less foliage) but they are not heavy feeders. You can also use complete liquid fertilisers every 2 weeks from when it starts flowering to when it totally dies back.

Don't skimp on numbers with this one, as it will look very sparse. This is why we are selling them in bulk, at such great prices, so that you will have an amazing display come Spring! So go for broke!

Growing Conditions Detailed

Botanical grouping: Narcissus
Family: Amaryllidaceae
Planting timeLate Summer to Autumn
Height: 30-45cm tall.
Depth & spacing:12-15cm apart. 15cm deep ie. 3 times the height of the bulb is the guide.

Full-sun to part-shade.

Well drained. But they are overall very easy to grow.

Start watering when you see it sprouting above the ground. Keep the soil moist right until the foliage has finished and shrivelled down to ground level.

Bulbs dont need food when they dormant (ie no shoots above ground as they are sleeping then) The important time to fertilise is when they start to sprout above ground. The best results can be attained from using a complete liquid fertiliser and water them with it every 2 weeks until they have finished flowering and died back down.
Flowering time
From late Winter until mid Spring (depending on the variety).

After flowering care
Leave them in the ground and they will gradually multiply. After about 3-5 years you could dig them up and separate the bulbs and plant half of them somewhere else.

Subtropical to cool climate.
