One of the failings of these type of hand digging tools is they rust and the steel rod that goes into the handle, usually only goes a short distance in. Over time the tool ends up snapping at that point. \u003cbr\u003eTo solve this we designed them to have the stainless steel rod go 70mm into the handle so that it maintains it's strength long term. Most other hand tools would only be 40-50mm. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWhen we tested this product it originally came with a leather strap and hole drilled through the end of the handle. This hole rubbed against your hand during use and made it uncomfortable to use. The strap would also be the first part to fail so we removed this, made the handle smooth and instead added the stainless steel eylet to the end. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eUsing stainless steel throughout the whole tool will prevent them rusting.
