I agree with the peoples posts…. “It is absolutely outrageous that Facebook and Google advertising eats up 40% of your profits! I like Neville Cox’s idea of promotional emails with a request to share. Word of mouth is powerful. I’ll have a look and see if I can purchase a gift or two for my family.”
I too am very sad to hear this news – but congratulations on having the courage to reach out and ask for community help. I will have a look and see what I can purchase today!
All the very best fortune to you.

Your tarps are the BEST! I used them to cover my chicken coops as they are durable and the allow consistency in ventilation. Well worth the cost! 😊🐓🐥🐥🐥

I am so sorry to hear news. I love everything about your business. I will certainly be making a purchase. And wish you well.

Hi there all of you. I can also say your products and services are excellent and I have been a recent new customer. Mark was so kind to help me more than once too. Okay I’ve been meaning to buy a hose so looks like there’s no better time. I saw the gorgeous bird house OMG but I wasn’t quick enough to buy one. Okay I really really hope you can stay afloat and get rid of FB too.
Cheers Liz

I have been buying from you for over 5 years now and love your products and service. Unfortunately I only have a very small garden and I am on a pension. However I have purchased your products as gifts before now and will continue to do so. I will be putting in an order today. Best of luck with everything and I will pray that you survive.

Hey Guys,
So sorry to hear you are going through a difficult time!
I have purchased so much from you and love everything I have received.
You’re a great business and will endeavour to continue to do business with you again when I can.
In the meantime I have posted to Twitter in the hope that it catches the eyes of people who follow me.
Kindest regards,
Steve

I think the aggressive advertising model was a good tool to get your brand established but I do think you need to dial it down as it’s becoming unsustainable.

Just some thoughts
Facebook is over saturated with ads now, to the point most people are moving away from it, so you might not be getting as much value as expect. Also due to the casual nature of Facebook and the exodus of more active users, you may be getting clicks on ads but not actual purchases. You would be better to run ads on just Instagram as it has more active and engaged users.

Google is still worth paying for as it more likely to attract people that are searching for a particular product.

It may be worth producing more gardening content on your YouTube channel. Do videos on gardening techniques, garden tours, interesting plants and cooking with produce from your gardens. This would be a great way to showcase your products and build brand loyalty. You will need to do about one video a week to keep the algorithm happy enough to keep recommending your videos.

There has been a notable increase in Australian gardening, DIY and cooking YouTubers, it may be worth doing sponsorships (even if it’s just free products) or collaborations with them. It may also be worth doing this with other influences like Instergrammers and Tiktokers.

I hope that these thoughts will give you some ideas for the future. I really hope it works out for you guys, as I appreciate business that sell quality products.
Best of luck.

I have been there in business. I understand the anxiety cashflow can cause. I encourage you to see this as a turning point in your business, an opportunity to reset a little and be stronger for it. Keep up the good work, the service, and quality of the products you sell.
I have made a purchase for some more pest free covers, and will do an honest review of how good they are.

Oh no, please don’t go. I love your gear and all the bits I’ve bought over the years. Everything is great quality. Your hoses are a game changer. Your kitchen scissors I’ve gifted far and wide and so your peg bags and. aprons. Apron especially good since you enlarged the phone pocket. Secateurs a treat and little saw a great tool. I will purchase more now to keep yo afloat. So many good wishes for your ongoing success. Laura
